Giuseppe Ricciardi
@ Università della Svizzera Italiana
Giuseppe Ricciardi is a PhD fellow at the Institute for Research in Biomedicine (IRB) in the Infection and Immunity group led by Prof. Santiago Gonzalez. His research focuses on the development of computational tools and modeling approaches to investigate tumor and CAR-T cell interactions for intravital imaging, with the aim of improving the understanding of immunological mechanisms and supporting innovative therapeutic strategies. His project is part of the European Marie Skłodowska-Curie network T-RAFIC.
Background
Computer Engineering, machine vision, computer vision for medical imaging, augmented reality for surgical applications.
He obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering in 2021 and his Master’s degree in Computer Engineering in 2023 from the University of Parma. During his Master’s studies, he spent a year at Université Paris-Saclay in the Machine Vision program and completed his thesis in collaboration with Cochlear, developing augmented reality solutions for cochlear implant surgery.
From 2023 to 2024, he worked as a research assistant at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, Department of Medical Physics, where he conducted research on computer vision methods for CTV segmentation in CT images and performed statistical analyses on lymphopenia in patients undergoing whole pelvis radiotherapy.
